Shovlin Named City's New Utility Director

Please join us in extending a huge welcome to our new Utility Director! Mr. Frank Shovlin officially donned the Utility Director hat bright and early on October 21, 2019!

Frank, his wife, and their three daughters are from the Poplar Bluff area where he was most recently employed by the Department of Natural Resources.

City Administrator Mark McFarland says that "the City has been reviewing applications from all over the country in search of the right person for the job, and we're certain we've found him!" McFarland says that aside from his experience with DNR, Frank worked in Northwest Missouri for several years operating a water/wastewater facility; these along with other experiences in this type of work make him highly qualified for the position of Utility Director.

Frank tells us he's excited to dive in and get to work. Among the long list of things to get acquainted with, he says one of his first items of business is to learn about each of the water & wastewater employees and their assigned jobs; knowing each of the employees and their assigned responsibilities is imperative to a director.

Frank is a super friendly, incredibly outgoing, and we're excited to add him to our City Family! Welcome aboard, Frank!!
