Park Hills Garbage & Bulk Trash Services


Weekly Garbage Pick-Up

Residents are limited to four bags of trash per week for normal removal service. You may put trash out for weekly pickup in containers larger than 20 gallons, but not larger than 35 gallons. Containers must not weigh more than 75 pounds when put out for pickup. Extra bags may be tagged for removal by purchasing tags for $1.00 each from City Hall. The city is divided into weekday routes for removal service. Please check this linked map to learn which weekday to put out the trash in your neighborhood.


Bulk Trash Pick-Up

The City of Park Hills offers three bulk trash pick-up opportunities throughout the year for a fee of $7.50 per pick-up. You must come to City Hall to register and pay the fee no later than the Friday before the scheduled pick-up in which you would like to participate. The schedule for 2019 is as follows:

Ward 1 Pick-Up Schedule:

  • Pick-Up #1: Collected on Monday, January 13 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, January 10
  • Pick-Up #2: Collected on Monday, June 15 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, June 12
  • Pick-Up #3: Collected on Monday, September 14 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, September 11

Ward 2 Pick-Up Schedule:

  • Pick-Up #1: Collected on Monday, February 10 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, February 7
  • Pick-Up #2: Collected on Monday, June 22 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, June 19
  • Pick-Up #3: Collected on Monday, October 12 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, October 9

Ward 3 Pick-Up Schedule:

  • Pick-Up #1: Collected on Monday, March 9 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, March 6
  • Pick-Up #2: Collected on Monday, July 13 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, July 10
  • Pick-Up #3: Collected on Monday, November 9 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, November 6

  • Pick-Up #3: Collected on Monday, December 14 - Deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, December 11

Rules and Guidelines for Bulk Trash Pick-Up

  • Bulk trash collection may include household furniture and appliances, with a total WEIGHT NOT TO EXCEED 1/2 TON with NO SINGLE ITEM TO EXCEED 250 LBS. Exceeding these limits may result in items being left behind.
  • Bulk trash items MAY NOT INCLUDE vegetative matter, tires, batteries, other hazardous materials, or construction debris. 
  • Appliances that have compressors and/or Freon (i.e. refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, etc.) MUST have compressor removed.
  • All items for pick-up MUST BE CURBSIDE in front of your home. NO alley or side-street pickups allowed!
  • All items MUST be set out by Monday Morning the week of your scheduled pickup.

Registration For Bulk Trash Pick-Up

There is a $7.50 Fee to participate.

If you would like to participate in the bulk trash pick-up for your ward, you MUST REGISTER at City Hall no later than the Friday Before your scheduled pickup week.

Curbside Recycling

Park Hills City Council Members voted to officially discontinue recycling services on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.


Open Burning

The open burning season extends October 15 through April 15 except when discontinued by order of the Fire Chief or the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Rules and guidelines for burning may be found in the City's Code. Click Here to view the code.

Burning during the offseason (April 15 to October 15) is allowed, but only by obtaining a burn permit from City Hall.
